Technical Details

How It Works

1. Infrared Emission: The sensor emits infrared light from an onboard IR LED.
2. Reflection Detection: The photodiode or phototransistor detects the reflection of the infrared light from the surface.
   • If the sensor is over a black line, the surface absorbs more light, resulting in a LOW output signal.
   • If the sensor is over a white surface, the light is reflected back to the sensor, generating a HIGH output signal.
3. Line Tracking: The robot’s microcontroller can process these signals to adjust the robot’s motors and follow the line.
