How It Works:
The AMG8833 sensor uses an array of thermopiles to detect infrared radiation from the environment, converting the thermal energy into electrical signals. Each of the 64 sensors in the array detects the temperature of a small area, which is then converted into a digital value. These readings are communicated through I2C to a microcontroller (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi), allowing you to display a thermal map or integrate the sensor data into your project.
Applications:
- Thermal Imaging: Create a simple thermal camera to visualize heat signatures.
- Robotics: Enable robots to detect heat sources or avoid obstacles based on temperature.
- Home Automation: Monitor temperature distribution in rooms for smart temperature control.
- Security Systems: Detect human presence through body heat.
- Industrial Applications: Monitor machines or equipment to detect overheating issues.
- Healthcare: Use for temperature mapping in medical applications, such as fever detection.
